Back 9 News

Back nine update

Where do the back 9 holes stand?

The back nine is coming back, one rake at a time. Raking and floating are where we need the most hands right now, and you don't need any experience. Just show up ready to work.

The order we're working in

Greens first, then fairways. The tee boxes stay as they are until every green and fairway is done. Once we have the people and equipment, they're next.

Shaped, and it looks great. Floating comes next, then drainage. On float day, the Community Crew will be out there with rakes in hand.

Raking is almost wrapped up, then one more big float. Every one of those little piles you see was raked by hand. Memphis, Arnold, and Jerry have put in serious hours out here. Thank you.

Memphis is out here more often than not, and he rarely comes alone. His dog Banjo keeps a close eye on the work.

Arnold has raked his share of those piles, and he's earned every break.

And Jerry Lester, out on 17 with his rake and the piles to prove it.

Close. A few finishing touches, then seed.

Raking keeps going while we get the irrigation ready for a float.

Top of the list. We've broken ground, and Mark Harvey starts on it this Thursday.

Almost there. A little final grooming, then seed.

Drainage is next, with some fine-tuning as we go.

None of these greens come back without Mark Harvey. He's done the heavy lifting on every one of them, and that's him below, digging out 11. Thank you, Mark.

Ready for raking, then one final float. This is the Community Crew's next big job, and Memphis, Arnold, and Jerry have already set the pace.

Sand is going down now. A few finishing touches after that.

How you can help

Anywhere you see raking or floating above, you can help. Memphis, Arnold, and Jerry could use the company. Sign up for the Community Crew and help bring these holes back.
